Not taking the time to thoroughly check every detail of your proof can creates headaches and cost you money. Most printers will look over your files but they're only human and won’t always catch everything. That's why it's important to know what to look for when you get your proof back. Here are a few tips to help you check your proofs:

Spell check all of your text

Are all of the lines, shapes, graphics etc. where they should be? Is the spacing correct between the text and pictures? If your jobs has page numbers make sure they are in order.? Have another set of eyes check your proof. Also print your proof and check it.

Once you’re confident that everything is the way it should be you'll be asked to sign off on the proof reprints are expensive so protect yourself by having everyone sign off on the proof before approving it.
